Selective Trout - Enhanced

The revised edition of Selective Trout actually is an expanded and enhanced edition. There is a significant difference from the initial edition. Some of the hatches have been renamed. If you ever had trouble locating that third PMD, it's gone. Color pictures of the mayflies still are included but along with the descriptions. There is additional discussion of Caddisflies, which is greatly expanded, as well as, Stoneflies, with patterns and hatch charts for both. The sections on Midges, Craneflies, Dragonflies, Aquatic Moths and Terrestials includes more information and additional patterns. The presentation is also enhanced by good quality paper and great color illustrations. This is what I had hoped for in a revised and updated edition.

This is a list of Karl Terzaghi's first 256 papers and reports - by Bjerrum, et al., John Wiley and Sons, 1960. An update was published by Geotechnique, March 1964.
Terzaghi won the Norman Medal of ASCE four times (1930, 1943, 1946, and 1955). He was given nine honorary doctorate degrees from universities in eight different countries. He started modern soil mechanics with his theories of consolidation, lateral earth pressures, bearing capacity, and stability.

Jo Malone is one of the most successful scent entrepreneurs of modern time. Her story is a how to for anyone with an idea and the passion to develop it.
I was an early customer of Jo Malone London and loved the way her beautiful scents made me feel and smell. But in the early millennium, her products seemed to change and not for the better. When I returned a bottle of perfume the sales person told me she had sold her company to a conglomerate. That was the last time I bought a Jo Malone product. They had been changed somehow and were no longer the elegant scents I had fallen in love with. When I heard that she had started another company that would be hers alone, I couldn't wait to try her products.
This is a resilient woman with a passion and there is no doubt in my mind she will enjoy another "second act" making beautiful scents.
Her story is fascinating. She is someone in whose success the reader rejoices.

The sweet smell of success!

A warmly written bio that feels as though Jo is chatting over a cup of tea. She shares stories of her childhood, family struggles, health challenges and overcoming dyslexia by embracing her heightened sense of smell to create one of the most beloved brands in the fragrance world.

A lovely and enjoyable read that is part memoir, part self help and part how to succeed in business.

Highly recommend to anyone who loves fragrance and a heart warming story of success through hard work and love.

This book was just ok. I didn't find it particularly inspiring or insightful. The final thoughts don't really disguise the author's true intention, either, which is to use this book as a launching pad for taking her latest brand international. For such a long biography, I was really hoping for more.

Good book that makes you evaluate your teaching style

Used this for a class I had to take in order to have a student teacher. It was an interesting book that made you really evaluate oneself and your teaching style and your fellow teachers in your school. I will say that it is like any other college level book where sometimes you have to read through sections a couple of times because heaven forbid they just write it in plain English. I could care less how smart and educated you are, some of the wisest people I know are those who probably only had an eighth grade education.

It's about time

Finally. A novelty ID construction book that deals with the meat of ID construction. Refreshingly, two chapters WERE NOT dedicated to lamination. I think we all know how to laminate.
MUCH ATTENTION was paid to creating holograms (something we actually need to learn).
The research was obvoiusly thorough and comprehensive. The author does not take credit for ideas that aren't his. All his sources are properly credited (though usually anonymously by request of the source). But, hey, it shows CLASS.
VERY REFRESHING slant for a genre that has of late been falling into the trap of selling titles. This book as REAL SUBSTANCE.
An excellent reference source for anybody interested in this art. Also great for writers who need to research underworld maneuvers for their "villain" characters.

Excellent book, but not quite modern enough

I really did like this book, it does have a wealth of information which can be APPLIED to more modern techniques, and generally just gets you thinking in different directions as a book like this should. But given todays climate and the fact that every state has improved security tremendously around IDs and ID cards and even birth certificates, unless you want to try your hand with a laminated Maine ID and or birth certificate printed on improper paper (and probably end up in jail), this may not be the best resource to follow word for word any longer. I didnt like the fact that he barely delved into the new world of teslin and pvc credit card hologramed high quality state IDs (if at all actually) as I feel that you would have to in a book of this nature today, but overall there are some worth while "ideas" in this book that have helped me get a bit better in the real world. Id recommend, but with a bit of caution depending on what your planning on doing, or not doing (*wink*).

I've read many similar books and they all basically tell you to print out a template on your computer and "find a hologram."
This book delves into the subject in a much deeper way. Mr. Charrett shows you how to make a rainbow (and other) hologram step-by-step with readily available materials. It also discusses non-computer, or "old school" techniques -- some of which produce better results than a computer.
... I feel it was well worth it and I will refer to this book again and again.
